Nobbys Beach SLSC Claimed

Welcome to Nobbys Beach on November 27 and 28, 2021

Mostly cloudy conditions at Nobbys this weekend, but still reasonable swimming and body surfing, in spite of the wind getting  up  south to southeasterly, 15-25 kmh.

On Sunday there is about a 70 percent chance of a shower or two across the Gold Coast.  Sunday will also see winds south to southeasterly 20-30 kmh at Nobbys, but a dip or a bodysurf might still be an option -- but please stay between the flags. 

For surfers it's a comfortable 1ft-2ft wave throughout the weekend, occasionally bringing shoulder-height faces.

As above, the wind will be mainly southerly and south-easterly throughout the weekend ranging from 15-30kmh throughout the weekend. See the Surfline report for Nobbys area beaches below for more detail.

Water is warming up (slowly!) after an unseasonably cold snap last weekend. Please swim between the flags or, if you are board riding, surf outside the flagged swimming area.

If you experience difficulty in the water, raise your arm out of the water and wave it from side to side so our Surf Lifesavers can see you. 

Breeze will pick up during the day and so you can expect choppier conditions by each afternoon..  Water temperature is about 22 degrees C.

Gold Coast Regional Afternoon Surf Report: The continued ENE swell is combining with short-period ESE swell to produce shoulder high waves along the more exposed open stretches grading around thigh to waist high elsewhere. As of report time surf conditions vary under moderate SSE winds with north facing beaches and southern corners looking considerably cleaner. Its well worth an arvo session next to the protected southern headlands, however conditions are currently looking a little full on the 1:36pm (1.5 m) high. 

Rest of Day Outlook:  Building SSE will continue to create waves in the shoulder high + range with S winds continuing to create choppy conditions on the exposed stretches, leaving those beaches closest to southern corners as the only options for some cleaner surf. Keep an eye on points as the SSE swell continues to grow and the tide runs out to this evening’s 8:45pm (0.5 m) low.
