Kirra
The world famous Kirra point was once one of Australia’s finest point breaks. The stomping ground of some of Australia’s most famous past surfers including Michael Peterson, Rabbit Bartholomew and Michael Townsend. As well as the current cooly crew including Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson.
Unfortunately due to council approved sand dredging the Kirra point is not at all what it once was only coming to life during large se swell when the super bank comes to life. Fortunately after much petitioning and public pressure the government has agreed to a plan to take measure to return Kirra to its former glory.
Kirra point is also the final resting place of the great Michael Peterson who sadly passed away on 29th of March 2012 at the age of 29 …. RIP MP
